Neuroimmunology Faculty Position


The Departments of Diagnostic and Biological Sciences in the School of Dentistry and Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota seek applications for a full time, 12 month tenured faculty position from investigators with an externally funded research program in Neuroimmunology. This position will hold joint appointments in the Department of Diagnostic & Biological Sciences, School of Dentistry (60% appointment) and the Department of Veterinary & Biomedical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine (40% appointment).

Candidates are expected to have a PhD, DDS, DVM, MD and /or equivalent degrees with established experience in neuroimmunology related to pain, CNS diseases, inflammation, or cancer. Successful candidates will be expected to interact with scientists across disciplines and develop collaborative research projects utilizing expertise available in both schools. Approximate effort allocation (which is negotiable) is 80% research, 15% teaching/mentoring and 5% service. Candidates must hold authorization to work in the United States by the start date.

The School of Dentistry and the College of Veterinary Medicine are part of a comprehensive, seven-school Academic Health Center system dedicated to the mission of promoting the “One Health” model in health sciences education and research. It offers state-of-the-art core facilities with access to the Supercomputing Institute, the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute and renowned basic science and clinical research programs in neuroimmunology, pain, cancer biology and CNS disorders.
