Two tenure-track faculty positions

The Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at Drexel University College of Medicine announces the opening of two tenure-track faculty positions. Appointment ranks are open and dependent on qualifications of the applicants and strength of their research programs. Candidates should have demonstrated superior achievements in research and education/mentoring, commensurate to their academic level, an appropriate background in university level education, and ability to work with diverse groups in a highly collegial manner. Applicants with research interests and expertise that strengthen and complement those of the existing faculty will be considered. Within the department, opportunities for interdisciplinary research exist in the general areas of neuroimmunology, neuroinflammation and neurological disorders; cancer biology and therapeutics; cardiovascular disease; pain, and substance abuse. Additionally, in the spirit of translational and collaborative research, interactions with clinicians and investigators from other departments or colleges are available and highly encouraged.

The department is one of the four basic science departments of the College of Medicine and actively participates in the education and training of both graduate and medical students. The Pharmacology and Physiology graduate program offers courses leading to the MS and the PhD. The department also houses a unique MS degree program in Drug Discovery and Development, which attracts students with diverse backgrounds and contributes to an intellectually stimulating environment. Faculty research programs within the department are funded by a variety of federal agencies, including NIH, DoD, AHA, and other funding agencies. Drexel University investigators are supported by a vibrant scientific community and state of the art core laboratories, including a new genomic and bioinformatics facility – among others.
