Postdoctoral Position


A postdoctoral position is currently available in Dr. Santosh Kumar’s laboratory in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy, University of Tennessee Health Science Center at Memphis. The main focus of our research is to “Study the role of cytochrome P450 and oxidative stress pathways and underlying mechanisms in alcohol and tobacco/nicotine-mediated HIV-1 pathogenesis”. Our other project focuses on the role of exosomes in alcohol/tobacco-mediated HIV pathogenesis. The ideal candidates for this position will be a person who is highly motivated, has good writing skill, and has expertise in molecular and cellular techniques (RTPCR, western, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, ELISA, cell cultures, etc.). Further experience in HIV-1 infection to monocytes and working with rodent models along with a background in exosomes, cytochrome P450, and/or substance abuse would be an added advantage.
